Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) deputies arrested Kevin Casey Spaulding, 35, early Tuesday morning and charged him with felony battery with a prior conviction.

Spaulding hit the victim four times and attempted to drag her out of his vehicle, the arrest report states.

ACSO Deputy Connor Logan reported, “I spoke with [Spaulding] over the phone because he was no longer on scene, I requested he come to the incident location to question him about the situation. [Spaulding] arrived on scene and in a post-Miranda interview, [he] stated there was a physical altercation that occurred, but denied putting his hands on the victim. [Spaulding] stated the victim grabbed him then locked herself in his car, he did admit to putting his hand on her leg to try to get her out of the vehicle.”

Spaulding’s bond is set at $50,000, court records show.

Spaulding has prior convictions for robbery with a firearm and battery from 2010.
