Alleged Stalker Facing New Case for Pretrial Release Violation

Update Oct 30: On October 23, Eller-Thomas took a plea deal in his stalking/burglary case and was granted a withheld adjudication on both charges. He was sentenced to roughly a year in jail with roughly two months credit for time already served, followed by one year of community control followed by one year of probation. His pretrial release violation case remains open.

Update | Oct 6
On September 9, Gainesville Police Department (GPD) Officer Williams Kaastra filed a sworn complaint on Guy Cooper Eller-Thomas, 23, for violating the pretrial release conditions in his stalking/burglary case. Now, nearly a month after the charge was pressed, a warrant still hasn't been issued to re-arrest Eller-Thomas.
Eller-Thomas was arrested by GPD in June on stalking and burglary charges for a series of incidents, but was released soon after on a $75,000 bond.
On April 5, Eller-Thomas reportedly stood on the victim’s front porch and refused to leave when she texted him to go away. He only left after the victim told him her parents were viewing him through their Ring doorbell camera.
On April 9, the victim texted Eller-Thomas that she does not want him to contact her. Eller-Thomas responded “Understandable” and “Thank you,” the arrest report states.
On May 17, Eller-Thomas began calling the victim from a blocked phone number. He attempted to call the victim approximately 60 times over the next two days. He also sent four voicemails and called her a derogatory term.

On June 11, the victim discovered a handwritten note in her room and dirt on her window seal, indicating Eller-Thomas had broken in.
The victim set up a hidden camera inside of her home.
On June 13, the victim’s camera caught Eller-Thomas breaking in through her kitchen window. The home was unoccupied, and Eller-Thomas left.
Once detained by police, Eller-Thomas requested to speak with an attorney.
While being transported to jail, Eller-Thomas reportedly said, "I shouldn't have done it. I'm just a heartbroken boy."

According to Officer Kaastra, Eller-Thomas used a backup Instagram account to unlawfully send the victim multiple messages a few months after his release. The victim had reportedly blocked Eller-Thomas on his primary account. According to his pretrial release conditions, Eller-Thomas must not contact the victim.

According to court records in his stalking/burglary case, Eller-Thomas is set to take a plea deal on October 21. The contents of the plea are unknown, and it's unclear if his new case will affect the scheduling of his court date.
After GnvInfo covered Eller-Thomas' case in June, he sent a text on Instagram to disparage the article.

Shortly after the update was issued, Eller-Thomas contacted GnvInfo again and provided the following statement:
“No one deserves jail or prison for having a mental episode. Clearly I had a mental breakdown and dissociation from life it self. No sane person does what I did to the victim, who is a pure sweet innocent woman. I'm a good person who handled a breakup in the worst way imaginable. Now instead of continuing the help I so desperately need, I'm going to lock up. Instead of fighting it imma take my licks cause the last thing I want to see is the victim crying in the courthouse.”
Eller-Thomas said the victim blocked him on everything and that she unblocked him as a “trap” to make him break the no contact order. He also said the adjudication in his stalking/burglary case will be withheld, meaning the case will still be on his record but he won’t be a convicted felon.
Eller-Thomas also said he was in Puerto Rico during the May incidents and that he contacted the victim when he was “very intoxicated” after seeing “her on hinge.”
Eller-Thomas disparaged the headline of this article, saying, “Being named as a stalker is crazy I’m sorry I knew where my ex girlfriend lived at. It's not like I stayed nights over there. I didn't follow her in my car or wait for her to leave her house. No I confessed my love to her on April 5th on her door step. If that's a stalker then times have changed cause I’m not a creep I’m not a stalker.”
When asked how many times he called the victim, Eller-Thomas replied, “Buddy I don’t even remember I was drunk in a different country.” He also said, “Tell you what the serving sizes in Puerto Rico is a lot more than the serving sizes in America.”
Eller-Thomas added that he lost an internship over this article and compared GnvInfo to the New York Post and CNN, saying only “one side” of the story was covered.
Update | Oct 6, 2025: The headline and text of this article was changed to reflect the present status of the case.
Added date for April 5 incident. Added more details for May incidents.
Added Eller-Thomas’ statements and corrected reporting error that he “created” a second account because the victim blocked him, when the sworn complaint indicates the secondary account may have already existed and he used it because the victim blocked his primary account.
