Hagerstown Man Arrested in Alachua County on Maryland Homicide Warrant
Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) deputies have arrested Darien Revwell Ford, 56, on a Maryland warrant for involuntary manslaughter.
Ford is from Hagerstown, Maryland, where the warrant was issued.
On March 12, 2021, the Hagerstown Police Department made a missing persons post about Ford, asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact them.

Based on court records in Maryland, Ford, who is reportedly nicknamed “Iceman,” allegedly committed involuntary manslaughter on September 5, 2021.

Ford was indicted for involuntary manslaughter on January 26, 2022. He also faces a reckless endangerment charge and nearly a dozen drug charges.

In 2023, a warrant was issued for Ford’s arrest after he failed to appear ahead of a jury trial.

Back in 2017, Ford was convicted in Hagerstown after shooting himself with a firearm he possessed illegally, along with cocaine distribution. According to Herald Mail Media, “Assistant Public Defender Robert Sheehan said Ford was unable to recall whether he shot himself in a suicide attempt, by accident, or other means… The cocaine distribution charge came from a controlled purchase of crack cocaine at a downtown Hagerstown bar… A warrant for Ford's arrest on the drug charge was issued on July 12, 2016, two days before he was found wounded in City Park.”
According to a press release by ACSO, deputies received reports of a “suspicious person” Sunday evening, with the caller reportedly saying a man later identified as Ford was “dangerously close to the roadway and [making it] difficult for passing motorists to see.” ACSO reported that this created a “serious safety concern.”
When Ford encountered deputies, he allegedly tried to conceal his identity by providing a false name. It’s not clear how deputies verified his identity, but the press release says they “worked diligently” to do so.
ACSO called the case “another reminder that even routine calls for service can lead to significant arrests,” telling members of the public to call them if they see “something suspicious or unsafe.”
ACSO reported that Ford has “been on the run for more than four years.”
As of now, Ford is in the Alachua County Jail on no bond awaiting extradition to Maryland.
