High Springs Man Arrested for Battering Woman

Stephen Scott Gerling, 39, was arrested on Friday and charged with domestic battery. 

Gerling told High Springs Police Department (HSPD) Officer Montavis Miner that he and the victim were arguing and she went into the garage. Gerling said he followed her and claimed she “tackled him like a football player.” 

The victim advised that she didn’t tackle Gerling and that her injuries were from him shoving her to the ground. 

Miner determined that Gerling was the primary aggressor. 

Gerling's was released after paying a $100 bond.
