High Springs Man Arrested for Stalking and Trespassing
Tuesday afternoon, High Springs Police Department officers arrested Christopher Corey Hayes, 60, and charged him with misdemeanor stalking and trespassing.
Officer Dustyn Shenk reported, “investigation revealed that [Hayes] left a ‘Superman’ birthday card and two letters on the victim’s fence and over her fenceline, indicating he still loved her and asking her to marry him. One of the letters had a ring attached to it as a wedding ring.”
The victim told police that she was afraid for her safety and affirmed she did not want Hayes to contact her.
In September 2025, HSPD warned Hayes that he would be arrested and charged with stalking if he continued contacting the victim.
Hayes has two misdemeanor convictions for violating of a domestic violence injunction out of Pinellas County, court records show.
Hayes was released from the Alachua County Jail on a 15,000 bond set by Judge Jonathan Ramsey with orders to not possess firearms and not contact the victim.
