“I Am Going to Disappear You” Man Arrested for Violating Domestic Violence Injunction

Gainesville Police Department (GPD) officers arrested Miguel Angel Aguirre, 30, Tuesday and charged him with violating a domestic violence injunction.
Last month, Aguirre was arrested and charged with domestic battery by strangulation for allegedly choking and beating the victim. The State Attorney’s Office dropped the case; however, the victim still had an active domestic violence injunction against Aguirre, which prohibits him from contacting her.
According to the arrest report from Aguirre’s new case, he sent the following message to the victim on Instagram:
"Traitor, I am going to disappear you and next time I am not going to fail, no one is going to be able to save you or do anything for you, you do not belong to this country, you are nobody without me.”
The Instagram account that sent messages to the victim contains Aguirre’s name and phone number.

Aguirre told police he didn’t understand why he was being arrested because the case was closed.
The disposition of the case does not change the status of the domestic violence injunction.
Aguirre was released from jail after posting a $50,000 bond.
