Judge Kristine Van Vorst granted a pretrial detention motion by the State Attorney’s Office this morning to hold Christian Sanchez Perez, 40, without bond.

Gainesville Police Department officers arrested Sanchez-Perez last week and charged him with sexual battery, hindering 911 communications and two counts of domestic battery.

According to the arrest report, Sanchez-Perez battered the victim until she was physically unconscious and sexually battered her. The following day, while Perez got ready for work, the victim tried to call 911. Perez reportedly stopped her and said, “Don’t be stupid,” before leaving for work.

The victim was able to make contact with police after Sanchez-Perez left.

During his interview with police, Sanchez-Perez reportedly changed his story multiple times, going from claiming the victim attacked him to saying they had consensual sex.

As of this writing, the State Attorney’s Office hasn’t formally filed Sanchez-Perez’s charges.
