Man Arrested For Committing Battery at Crossings at Santa Fe Apartments
Tuesday evening Butler Lee Ivey, 19, was arrested and charged with domestic battery by strangulation.
Police responded to the Crossings at Santa Fe Apartment Complex after a witness called 911 to report a physical altercation between Ivey and his girlfriend.
The victim and Ivey were reportedly arguing about her holding his phone when he began choking her.
The victim had to be transported to the hospital for injuries consistent with strangulation. She told police she wanted to press charges.
Ivey was arrested at Publix (9200 NW 29th Ave) shortly after.
Ivey has no bond.
Update | March 26, 2026:
Ivey was released on $15,000 bond after the State Attorney's Office decided to not file a pretrial detention motion.
In November 2o24, the case was downgraded to standard count of misdemeanor battery (not formally filed as domestic).
On February 25, 2025, Ivey took a no contest plea deal and was sentenced to one year of probation. He was granted a withheld adjudication, meaning he was not convicted.
On March 10, 2026, Ivey's probation was officially terminated.
