Man Arrested on Two-Year-Old Warrant for Not Maintaining Contact with Probation Officer After Moving to Spain
Deputies booked Nicholas Andres Sosamuller, 29, into the Alachua Country Jail Friday on a probation violation warrant that was two years and two months old.
In January 2024, Judge Thomas Jaworski sentenced Sosamuller to one year of probation after he entered an open plea to domestic stalking. Jaworski withheld the adjudication, meaning Sosamuller was not convicted.
Court records indicate Sosamuller moved to Madrid, Spain, under the order that he stay in contact with his probation officer on a monthly-basis. Based on the violation report, Sosamuller did not abide by this condition, neglecting to respond to calls and emails. A warrant was issued on April 4, 2024.

The warrant was ultimately served on June 5, 2026.
In the violation report, Court Officer Barbara White recommended that Sosamuller be sentenced to 364 days in jail, which is effectively the maximum penalty as his charge is a misdemeanor.
Sosamuller's case dates back to March 2023 when he was charged by Gainesville Police Department officers.
The victim and Sosamuller were previously in a relationship and he began stalking her sometime after she broke up with him.
According to the report, "[Sosamuller], over the course of a one year period, repeatedly called the victim approx. seventy five times leaving unwanted voicemails... [Sosamuller] also has been calling the victim from an out of country number and sending text messages to [her] as recently as one week ago... The victim also received unwanted flowers that were sent from [Sosamuller] to [her] home. The victim made [Sosamuller] aware that she did not want contact with [him] and all of these forms of communication were unwanted."
The victim attempted multiple times to cut contact with Sosamuller by blocking his number.
Officer Maurquice Miller reported, "The continuous forced communication by [Sosamuller] has caused the victim extreme emotional distress... With the most recent actions of [Sosamuller] escalating to him sending things to her home, she fears he may escalate further and is in fear that violence is imminent as [he] knows where [she] lives."

Court records show Sosamuller was served a summons, indicating his recent probation violation arrest is his first arrest for this case.
As of now, Sosamuller remains in the Alachua County Jail without bond.
