Earlier this month, Ka’Shon Louis McCallum, 29, was booked into the Alachua County Jail on a misdemeanor warrant for violating a domestic violence injunction. This comes after two aggravated stalking cases and one conviction, leading to a two-year prison sentence.

In February/March 2025, the victim was in the process of ending her relationship with McCallum. During this time, McCallum reportedly sent multiple death threats to the victim targeting her and their children. As a result, the victim obtained a domestic violence protection injunction from the Alachua County Circuit Court.

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) deputies charged McCallum with aggravated stalking but he was not immediately arrested.

On April 1, 2025, McCallum sent the victim friend requests on Tik-Tok despite the active injunction, leading to prosecutors charging him with aggravated stalking after a court order.

On April 21, 2025, Bradford County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested McCallum on the warrant and he was later transferred to the Alachua County Jail.

On August 28, 2025, facing up to ten years in prison, McCallum took a no-contest plea agreement that was accepted by Judge James Colaw. Prosecutors agreed to drop one of the aggravated stalking charges and McCallum was sentenced to two years in prison followed by three years of probation. Court documents indicate that the victim was in agreement with the offer.

McCallum later asked to withdraw his plea and complained about being in a phone-restricted unit, stating it prevented him from getting proper legal counsel. McCallum said he has worked as a firefighter and has no criminal history. McCallum argued that he lacked knowledge of the legal situation. Colaw rejected the motion.

In September 2025, McCallum was charged with a misdemeanor count of violating a domestic violence injunction, and a warrant was issued two months later. McCallum reportedly contacted the victim via a third party and tried to call her with the prison phone.

Although he wasn’t serving probation yet, McCallum also faces probation violation proceedings due to one of the conditions being no-contact with the victim.

In January 2026, McCallum asked for the warrant to be served, stating it resulted in a detainer that prevents him from participating in certain programs such as work-release. McCallum said he wanted to "face justice now rather than await his current sentence to expire and further burden the taxpayers with transport and booking within the Alachua County jail."

A probation officer requested an extension to McCallum's prison sentence, stating he "has already shown he is not willing to abide by the conditions of supervision which could potentially expose the victim in the case to physical or emotional danger."
