Press Release by the Alachua County Sheriff's Office:
On Sunday, April 13, 2025, ASO detectives responded to Reflections Apartments at 205 SW 75th St in reference to a death investigation, where the victim, 21-year-old Aaviel Javion Hester-Guadalupe, was found deceased on his couch, with a gunshot wound. The victim was believed to be dead for several days.
Detectives determined during their investigation Hester-Guadalupe’s handgun and vehicle were missing. They also located a Five Star pizza box with a receipt dated April 10th.
Law Enforcement contacted Five Star pizza and with the use of law enforcement databases, they were able to learn the pizza was ordered for “Zay,” who was at the victim’s address.
Detectives spoke with multiple witnesses. One witness stated the suspect, 23-year-old Zaytarious Chisolm, had been staying with the victim for about a week, and saw Chisolm along with another male loading a car with items from the victim’s apartment on April 10th. Chisolm is a convicted felon, previously serving time for burglary, fleeing LE, possession of Marijuana over 20 grams, and possessing a firearm, ammunition, or a concealed weapon by a convicted felon.
Another witness told detectives they had contact with Chisolm after the incident. Chisolm told the witness details about the victim’s death and saw Chisolm with the victim’s gun.
ASO learned the victim’s car was located abandoned on Saturday, April 12th, by the Gainesville Police Department within city limits. GPD had the vehicle towed by Elite Towing after they were unable to make contact with the victim. ASO forensics obtained the victim’s car from Elite Towing and processed the vehicle. Evidence from inside the car was linked back to Chisolm.
On April 18th, detectives were granted an arrest warrant for Chisolm for grand theft of a firearm, grand theft of a vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
On April 25th, Chisolm was arrested on those warrants in Jacksonville, Fl.
After a post Miranda interview with Chisolm and based on all the evidence obtained by ASO, Chisolm was charged with homicide and is being held without bond.
