Tyler McCann-Carter Sentenced for Possession & Distribution of CSAM Through KIK

Tyler McCann-Carter has been sentenced to five years in prison, followed by five years of sex offender probation on eight counts of possession and six counts of distribution of child pornography. He will serve roughly 4 1/4 years, as he had 226 days from the time he was in jail removed from his sentence.

In Feb 2023, when Carter’s residence was being searched by officers, he claimed he was attempting to “bait somebody out” so he could report them to the messaging app Kik.

Carter admitted that his attempts to “bait” offenders involved having videos of prepubescent children being exploited on his phone and that he would send them to others.

Carter was arrested six months later, in Aug 2023.

Carter was originally pleading not guilty and was facing a maximum of 100 years in prison; however, he entered into a plea deal with the Fl State Attorney’s Office to be granted a lighter sentence.

This reflects the outcome of a recent case of child sexual abuse committed by Gabriel Hemenez, who was recently sentenced to five years in prison after being granted a plea deal by the Fl State Attorney’s Office on child molestation charges.
