Sex Offender Sentenced to Four Years in Prison for Violating Registration Requirements and Financial Exploitation

Registered sex offender Todd Matthew Johnson, 44, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison last week after being convicted of one count of larceny, one count of elderly exploitation and two counts of violating sex offender registration requirements.
According to the arrest report, Johnson manipulated the victim, a mentally disabled woman, by stealing checks he promised to cash for her and giving her a fraudulent check to trick her.
Deputies also discovered that Johnson did not provide vehicle or employment information on his sex offender registration, as required by law.
In 2011, Johnson was convicted of sexual battery against a minor.
With 107 days of credit for time served in jail, Johnson is scheduled to be released from prison in September 2029.
