2 Shootings in 1 Day in Alachua County: ACSO and HSPD Respond

Updated: March 7th: Terrell Nicholos Weeks, 18, has been charged with first degree homicide for allegedly killing a man at Eastwood Meadows on March 4th.

On March 4th, at 4:30 pm, Alachua County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) deputies responded to a shooting at Eastwood Meadows apartments that resulted in the death of one man. 

Four hours later, ACSO deputies and units from the High Springs Police Department (HSPD) responded to a shooting near Walter Howard Park at NW 248th Street and NW 188th Avenue. The gunfire resulted in a single victim sustaining a grazing wound to the leg from a bullet. The man is reported to be in a non-life-threatening condition.

As of this writing, no arrests have been reported in the High Springs shooting. HSPD has said, “There is no threat to the public, HSPD is continuing its investigation and have identified several involved parties.”
