"Emotionless:"Archer Man to Spend Less Than Four Years in Prison After Prosecutor Amends Child Molestation Charge
On April 21, Shane Arnel Addison, 20, pled no contest to a count of lewd or lascivious conduct against a minor. Addison took a plea deal for a sentence of five years of imprisonment and no probation. With time-served credit of over a year, Addison is set to spend a little under four years in state prison.
Although he won’t have formal probation, Addison will be required to abide by standard sex offender restrictions as a designated sex offender.
The police report describes how Addison repeatedly molested the victim when she was five years old. Addison was charged with one count of child molestation against a victim under 12 years of age. However, as part of his plea deal, prosecuting attorney Darla Whistler agreed to amend the charge to lewd or lascivious conduct against a minor under 16 years of age.
Whistler is currently vying to become a judge in Levy County. She says that if elected she will administer "justice with integrity."

Deputy Justin Dillon reported, “During a post-Miranda interview, [Addison] was emotionless and showed no concern for the [minor] victim. [Addison] claimed that he often acted as a disciplinarian for the younger children in the home, administering ‘whoopings’ at the direction of the children's mothers. [Addison] denied assisting the children in toileting, bathing, or dressing. He stated that he primarily spanked the children using his hands but had also used a plastic spoon and ‘sticks’ from a tree in the yard. When confronted with the [minor] victim’s statements [Addison] simply stated that he ‘couldn't remember’ any such instances but made no denial of the allegations.”
As of now, Addison remains in the Alachua County Jail awaiting transportation to a Florida Department of Corrections facility.
