Gainesville Man Arrested on Felony Animal Cruelty Warrant

Andrew Lowell Nauman, 49, was booked into the Alachua County Jail Monday evening on a felony warrant for aggravated animal cruelty.

According to the warrant, on January 2, 2026, Nauman “did intentionally fail to act, while having control or custody of the animal, which resulted in [the] excessive [and] repeated infliction of unnecessary pain or suffering” to his German shepherd.

The Alachua County Jail is holding Nauman on a $25,000 bond. Further information on the case isn’t currently available.
